My first project is on electric and gas powered cars. This project started off when my art teacher wanted to make a poster because I didn't know what I should start my first project with. So I went home and thought about it a lot and came in with a totally new idea, I wanted to make a model car. Now this isn't just a model car it is supposed to be a Tesla model S with a real plant in the hood and copper wire inside the car. These two objects are representing electricity and well plants. Now these two objects have a lot to do with electric and gas cars. The wires inside are for electricity and how much better for the environment it is then gas and diesel. Now the plant is to show how electric affects the environment and how the inventors try helping the environment in some small ways that will change the future.
These pictures above are of the before project or what I started out with and how I had to prep the car before I started pouring the liquid and making the container. And as you can tell I put sculpting mold on the bottom to prevent any of the liquids from going inside the car and messing up the mold.
Now these pictures are my final art project for project one. This project was a little challenging. It was challenging because I kind of got a little late start for figuring our what I was going to do but all in all this project turned out better than what I thought. The wheels are off of a toy car from a while ago and the plant was from my moms garden.
Argumentative essay
Gas vs Electric
Electric and gas powered cars have been having competitions between who has the best car in ways like better milage and how it affects the environment, well gas cars don’t seem to think that way. Electric cars are better for our environment because they don’t put out as much pollution as gas or diesel vehicles which is good, or so we thought. Gas and diesel vehicles pollute the air very bad, what there engines put into the air is c02 and carbon monoxide and even when the car is off they will still drip oil and antifreeze and different liquids that can still hurt the air and wildlife in the long run. But gas cars do have some benefits which will make them seem better in some ways than electric cars. So in the long run gas cars will run longer they will take the wear and tear and still move forward, and these gas power cars will produce more power than electric because they have more torque and more power than electric which has electric motors and will run like electric motors. One other thing is that gas cars run on gasoline I know it sounds dumb but there will always be gasoline around. Now I am all for electric cars because they help the environment just a little bit, but electric cars are going to be the big choice and decision because electric cars will cover a wider distance and there will always be electricity if we have the sun, so if the sun goes away electric cars are out of luck. Electric cars have a lot of pros such as these cars are cheaper to run because while there is still gas all around us electric does cost less in the long run. You will also get either $5,000-$6,000 cash back or that much off of your purchase because you are buying an electric car so it’s helping the earth and that way electric companies are helping you.”1851 - The US Senate funds a prototype electric locomotive, which made a test run from Washington DC to Baltimore MD, a distance of about 40 miles (64 km). Charles Grafton Page, a US patent examiner, designs it and uses his Washington connections to get funding. The motor was like an electric steam engine with a solenoid and iron slug rather than a cylinder and piston. The effort fails when the clay separators in the primary battery cells crack and the solenoid coils overheat and short out as the insulation fails. Steam remains more practical for large-scale power at this point.”(colocationamerican)(pbs.org)(bloomberg.com) Electric cars are better than gas and diesel powered car because the big thing is air pollution, pollution is a big problem in today's world because right now we are fighting with global warming and these hot gas/diesel powered cars and trucks aren’t helping. Tesla is a big company in the electric car business. Tesla’s co founder Elon Musk is a very intelligent man, he was the inventor of zip2 which is an online business that Musk made himself. Musk is also the founder and designer of PayPal which is known as an online and available to the public, musk is also the founder of space X a national space station known world wide and not only that he is making an all electric train under ground right now. But this isn’t about Elon Musk it is about how electric cars are better than gas and diesel vehicles. Electric cars will travel farther than any gas vehicle, the Tesla will go 370 miles on a single charge, a single charge is what we are comparing to a full tank of gas. Now in 1890-91 the first electric car was made it went 14 mph and was created by William Morrison of Des Moines from Iowa, but was a six passenger vehicle in the body shape of a model T.(energy.gov) And ever since then electric cars have been hot on the market from people trying to recreate it to people who are collectors.(auto.howstuffworks)(interesting-engineering) While gas cars only take a few minutes to fill up the Tesla takes about an 1hr-1.5hr to fully charge but you can also leave it on all night and it won’t hurt the car in any way. Teslas are great cars for long road trips and even shorter ones with its fully hands free driving technology, this means that you can take your hands off the wheel and do things you usually could in regular cars like check your phone or drink something without having to worry about crashing. The Tesla also comes with a tablet size touch screen in the middle of the car and you can do anything from starting direction to making your car dance, yes it can really dance. Another great idea from Tesla is with the model x the passenger doors in the back go up instead of straight out also known as butterfly wings. These wings are super helpful because you won’t have to worry about hitting the car parked next to you because it has sensors in the doors to let you know when it gets close and will stop automatically. And if you want to have a race with one of your homies you will surprise them with a 0-60 time of 2.1 seconds, so you’ll pretty much beat anyone you want. Electric cars can come in many different sizes and shapes. The model x is an SUV the model 3 is a sedan along with the model s. (Lelandwest.com)(edisontechcenter) Now Tesla isn’t the only company that sells electric cars a lot of the big name brands are also on board of this fully electric car idea. BMW, Tesla, Nissan, Chevy, Ford, Volkswagen and Kia all have fully electric cars for sale, one of the newest electric companies are Volkswagon. The Volkswagen E-Golf is there newest addition to volkswagen with a range of 125 miles on a full charge. Electric cars are going to be the big thing in the future because people will finally realize when everything is dead and there is no more rain forest around that they should have bought an electric car when wildlife really needed it. Electric cars are one of the easiest cars to operate because the car will tell you what to do and all you do is plug it in and drive. You can get solar panels for your roof to be a little more helpful or you could go to one of the thousands of electric stops around the world.(VW.com)(EnergySage)(Howstuffworks) In conclusion, electric cars are better every way around, they help you bill along with the environment. They will save money on everything from switching from gas to electric and with your miles per fill up. Electric cars will also be the future so if you make the switch now, you'll be helping in ways you couldn’t even imagine. Electric will be easier since gas prices fluctuate every day, sometimes multiple times throughout the day but electric won’t change that much over time which will save you money in the long run. But that’s just my opinion but let me ask you, what do you think is better clean electric vehicles, or air polluting vehicles.

policy briefs- A policy brief is a concise summary of a particular issue, the policy options to deal with it, and some recommendations on the best option. It is aimed at government policymakers and others who are interested in formulating or influencing policy. Policy briefs can take different formats.

Policy briefs are “Under federal fuel economy standards, states that mandate electric vehicle sales enable other states to shift to higher-emitting vehicle fleets. This could result in greater polarization in the types of vehicles purchased in different states without reducing overall emissions or gasoline consumption.6” This short paragraph is talking about trying to make people want to buy cars for their perks or better offers and when you buy an electric car you’ll get cash back or so much off of your purchase, now this does factor your car and how big/small it is which will vary in prices.
